Family tradition of naming guns

My grandpa named all his hunting rifles. When he died, those names meant something and now I sometimes do the same thing and think about him when I use them. It's not really about the gun itself, it's the memories attached. Anyone else have family traditions like this with naming guns?

Not that we name our guns, but we passed them down with stories. When I take one out, I remember who taught me to shoot it and where it's been. That matters more than any name.
