Congrats on the eight-pointer, that's what it's all about, those perfect moments right at last light. My best story from this season has to be the one that got away, honestly. I was hunting a thick creek bottom, and a huge buck (a solid ten-point, maybe more) came through fast, chasing a doe. I got a clean bead on him at about 60 yards, but my shooting lane was tight. I held fire, waited for the perfect window, and by the time he cleared the last sapling, he was gone. Sure, I didn't get him, but watching that old monarch move through the timber like a ghost was incredible. I'll be back in that same stand next year, waiting for him! What kind of rifle/caliber were you running when you dropped that nice eight?
