The sacred pre-chaos quiet time

The best part of Christmas morning for me is that hour before everyone wakes up when it's just you, coffee and silence. I sit on the porch even when it's freezing just to soak it in. Once everyone's up it's nonstop until midnight. Do you protect this quiet time or am I the only one?

I do something similar by hiding away in the garage with the door slightly open, no music, no chatter. That bit of quiet keeps me sane before the craziness starts.
