I'm starting the Oklahoma Self-Defense Act permit application and trying to understand the timeline and requirements. My coworker just got his last month and said the whole process was pretty straightforward, but he mentioned the training course quality varies a lot, what is the experience like getting your Oklahoma SDA permit? Are there any tips for making it go smoothly or trainers you'd recommend..

Take your 8-hour class some are snoozers, pay your fees money orders only, get fingerprinted at the Sheriff's, then wait 2-3 months for the mail. Easy peasy

Since the law requires you to complete a certified, 8-hour firearms training course before you can even apply, and given your coworker's feedback on quality variation, what specific part of the training are you most interested in, the live-fire proficiency test, or the in-depth legal and use-of-force education?
