Gear problems in cold weather

So, this one time, the cheap battery in my scope died while I was out in the cold. I had to guess all my shots that day! Ever since then, I test all my gear in the winter to see if it can handle the weather.

Once, when I was setting up in freezing weather, my headlamp died halfway through and it turned into a total guessing game
