best basic setup for first time fishing with my kid

I'm planning to take my 5-year-old fishing soon and I'm honestly a bit lost. I didn’t really fish growing up, so I’m not sure what I need. I found some kid-sized rods at a store and they seem okay, but is that really enough for a simple outing? Just looking for advice on what to bring along and how to keep it fun for my little one.

Grab a small spincast combo, a few bobbers, hooks, and worms... then find a calm pond with easy access. Let your kid reel in the fish, even the tiny ones, it'll be fun
